New CDC Opens at Valley View in Ontario

Julia L.Easter Seals Southern California has opened a new Child Development Center (CDC) on the campus of Valley View Continuation High School in Ontario.  The Easter Seals CDC-Valley View will offer Early Head Start and Alternative Payment Child Care services to 48 infants and toddlers.  The CDC will serve primarily children of teen parents who attend Valley View and surrounding high schools.  This is Easter Seals’ first formal partnership with a school district to offer this unique service on their campus.

“What makes it even more exciting is that the school district actually built the center specifically for the benefit of infants and toddlers.  This way Easter Seals can meet an urgent community need at a center that meets the same high standards offered by our regular Child Development Centers in Upland and Ontario,” says Carlene Holden, Executive Vice President.

KidsNCare of San Bernardino County and the county’s Preschool Services Department are the funders on thisChild Development Center Logo project.  The project was also endorsed by the Superintendent of the Chaffey School District.

“This partnership is great example of what services result from a strong collaboration in the community, especially during these current economic times.  It was everyone’s joint effort that made this possible,” says Vice President of Children’s Services Betty Reckard.
